Our Story
From Community Action to Research-Driven Development
CCDSR was founded in 2011 under the name Nav Parivartan with a commitment to supporting underserved communities through grassroots development initiatives. As the organization gained experience and deepened its engagement with communities, it recognized the growing importance of integrating research into development practice.
In 2021, the organization underwent a strategic transformation and adopted the name Centre for Community Development and Social Research (CCDSR). This transition marked more than a change of name—it reflected an expanded vision that combines community development with research, innovation, and evidence-based decision-making. The restructured Board brought together experienced professionals from diverse fields, strengthening the organization’s ability to design impactful programmes and contribute to sustainable development.
Today, CCDSR continues to work with communities, government agencies, academic institutions, civil society organizations, and development partners to create opportunities that empower individuals and strengthen communities across India.
